English 101: Academic Writing & Research
This class is a required introductory writing course for college freshmen. It is a Writing Across the Disciplines course, so students learn how to write for various audiences in various contexts. My course is organized by discipline: Unit one is on the humanities, unit 2 the natural sciences, unit 3 the social sciences, and unit 4 is a two part research project.

I have tried various assignments for this class, units 3 and 4 in particular. I am linking here my assignment sheets that are the most successful.

English 323: Writing in the Rhetorical Tradition
This class is for English majors and upperclass undergraduates. We discuss ancient rhetorical practices and strategies, and work extensively on instances in which said practices appear in contemporary culture.
